Our Story: Family-Owned Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning Since 1993
Kealey's Duct and Dryer Cleaning is a family owned company in Salisbury, Massachusetts, founded in 1994 by mechanical engineer Brian Kealey and run today with his son Keenan. They clean dryer vents and air duct systems across Essex County MA, Rockingham County NH, and York County ME. Every job ends with before and after photos and the price quoted on the phone.
How did Kealey's get started?
Brian Kealey trained around the country before opening the business in 1994. He came at it as a mechanical engineer, so he spent as much time on airflow as he did on lint. That is still how he works, and customers regularly write that they learned something about their own house while he was in it.
Thirty three years later Keenan runs it with him, and the mission has not moved. Safer air, an honest number, and a house that looks the way it did before the truck pulled up.
What does Kealey's commit to on every job?
This industry earned its reputation the hard way. A cheap coupon lands in the mailbox, a crew arrives with a shop vac, and the number climbs once they are already in the basement. Four promises keep us on the other side of that.
A written price before we come out
A short phone call gets you a number in writing. If we find something the call missed, we stop and talk to you first. Nobody gets handed a surprise invoice at the door.
Your house stays clean
The system stays sealed to our equipment while we work, so debris leaves the house instead of settling on the floor. We put protection down, move what needs moving, and put it back.
You see what came out
Ducts and vent lines are hidden, which is exactly why proof matters. Same spot, same camera, before we started and after we finished. You never have to take our word for it.
Sometimes the answer is no
Describe what your dryer is doing and there is a real chance Brian talks you through a fix on the phone. You book nothing and pay nothing. That has never cost us money in the long run.
The local team behind your clean air
No dispatch center, no rotating crew, no subcontractors. When you book with Kealey's you get one of these two, and usually both.
Brian Kealey
Founder and mechanical engineerBrian started the company in 1994 and has been in New England basements and attics ever since. The engineering degree shows up in how he explains things. Ask him why your dryer takes two cycles and you will get an answer about airflow and restriction rather than a sales pitch.
He is also the one who answers the phone most days. Plenty of those calls end with advice instead of an appointment.
Keenan Kealey
Co-owner and service leadKeenan served as an Essex County Deputy Sheriff before joining his father full time. He runs scheduling, handles a large share of the dryer vent work, and is the reason most customers get a callback the same day.
He grew up around this work, so he has seen the coastal problems that surprise people: bird nests packed into exterior hoods, roof terminations nobody has touched in twenty years, ducts knocked loose by a flooring crew.
What does the work actually look like?
Homeowners almost never see inside their own vent line or ductwork, which is exactly why this industry has a trust problem. Same spot, same camera, before we started and after we finished. This is what lands in your inbox at the end of a job.
Inside the dryer cabinet
Lint gets past the trap and packs into the cabinet itself, around the drum and up against the heating element. Brushing the vent line never reaches this, which is why we open the dryer up.
Air duct trunk line, Exeter, NH
Everything sitting in a trunk line rides through the house every time the system kicks on. Negative air pulls it out of the building instead of blowing it across your floors.
A few of the conditions we find more often than people expect: standing water sitting in a vent line that another company would not touch, bird nests packed into a coastal exterior hood, and ducts knocked loose by a flooring crew. You get photos of those too, before we quote the fix.

"Without a doubt this is the best company I've ever dealt with in my very long life. They have a lot of integrity and bend over backwards to accommodate you. They get back to you right away when you contact them and believe me I've contacted them plenty, even on a Sunday. They should give seminars on how to be an excellent company especially with a pest like me. BTW I've had them twice and they've always been great."
Sandra L.Google review, repeat customer"Brian took the time to understand the symptoms of our dryer blocked airflow error message rather than just scheduling a service call. He gave several suggestions to try first. I tried those steps as well as added an additional step I thought would be helpful. The error message went off. Thank you Brian for your thoughtful approach."
Mark S.Google review, phone diagnosis"Very professional. Did a great job. Showed camera pics of vents before and after. Would recommend this Father and sons team."

Questions about working with Kealey's
Answers from the two people who do the work. Service questions are covered in more depth on the FAQ page.
Brian, Keenan, or both. There is no dispatch center and no subcontractor. That is the whole company, and it is the reason the person who quoted your job is the same person standing in your laundry room.
Since 1994. Brian founded the company that year after training around the country, and it has been family owned every year since. Keenan joined full time after serving as an Essex County Deputy Sheriff.
Yes. If your building manager or condo association needs a certificate of insurance before we come out, ask when you call and we will send it over.
It depends on the size of the house, how many supply and return vents you have, and how easy the system is to reach. We do not publish a flat rate because the honest number changes house to house. A short phone call gets you a written price, and that price does not move once we are on site.
NADCA recommends cleaning a dryer vent once a year, and that covers most households. Air ducts are a longer cycle, usually every three to five years, sooner if you have pets, allergies in the family, or a renovation behind you. Details live on the dryer vent cleaning and air duct cleaning pages.
Often. A "check vent" light on a newer dryer sends a lot of people looking for a repair when the line just needs a look, and some of those calls end with Brian walking someone through it on the phone. If your ducts are already clean, we will show you the photos that prove it and you will not be talked into anything.
Yes. We cover Rockingham County, NH, including Portsmouth, Exeter, Hampton and Seabrook, and we cross into York County, Maine for towns like Kittery.
